Bridgton Veterinary will be hosting a Breed of the Month for the year 2010.
During each month we will choose a breed and invite all of our clients that have that particular breed to come in to have your pets photo taken and receive a special gift from BVH. We will have information regarding that particular breed each month on display. Maine Cocker Spaniel Rescue has just agreed to participate in our Open House this July! Therefore we found it quite appropriate to make March All About The American Cocker Spaniel
The American Cocker Spaniel is an incredibly versitile breed of dog. They can go from a perfectly groomed fancy show dog, to a hard working hunting dog.
Best of all these dogs can make great family pets. The American Cocker Spaniel is a medium sized breed, averaging 14 to 16 inches in height and weighing between 15 and 35 pounds. They are a hunting dog for flushing a retrieving birds. They orginated from the English Cocker Spaniel bred down in size to be more useful when hunting in dense cover.
